Cissy Ross teaches Writing 2, 50, 109SS and 107J. She received her doctorate in writing education from UCSB in 2008; prior to that, she worked as a journalist and editor. Her research has explored student writing in Environmental Studies, SAT essay tests, and new media, especially as it applies to social science and journalism. Her editing work won a New York Times chairman's award for environmental reporting.
