Writing Program Lecturer Search, 2018-19

The University of California, Santa Barbara, Writing Program invites applications for full-time lecturers to join a vibrant and dynamic program, begining in the 2018-19 academic year. Lecturers teach lower-and upper-divison course, incudling introductory writing courses for a variety of students and advanced courses in academic, interdisciplinary, and profressional areas. The Writing Program also has a professional writing minor. Additonally, Writign Program lectureres are integrally invlvoed in program governance, development, and innovation. 

Deadline for primary consideration is Decemeber 8, 2017; applications will not be accepted after December 15, 2017. 

Full-time lecturers hired in this search may receive two-year contracts with the possibility of renewal up to six years; at the sixth year, a lecturer may be considered for a continuing appointment, which is an ongoing contract with merit reviews every three years. Salaries are competitive and vary depending upon training and experience; appointments include full benefits. Positions are pending funding approval. The minimum requirement to be considered an applicant is a Ph.D. or the completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. (or equivalent terminal degree) except the dissertation (or equivalent) at the time of application. Experience teaching writing is expected of all applicants. The Program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.
