The Writing Program's Writing 50 Excellence Awards recognize the best student research writing from our Writing 50 courses during a calendar year. Writing 50—Writing and the Research Process—introduces students to the academic research and writing done at the university, with an emphasis on primary sources. Instructors nominate up to two papers from each section they teach, and the finalists are selected by a panel of WP faculty. In addition, the winning essays are edited by UCSB Professional Writing Minor Editing students as part of their internship credit. This year's winners are:
Sarah Behar, “Bitches Ain’t Shit, But Hoes and Tricks”
