...Janet Mizrahi teaches Writing 2, 109EC, 109HP,110MK, and 109JW. After receiving her Master's Degree in English from UCLA, Janet left academia for a career that has spanned more than 20 years as a professional writer, beginning as a journalist at a Los Angeles daily newspaper where she was a features writer. As a reporter, Janet's specialty was medical writing and author interviews, and during her tenure she interviewed Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, and Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel. One of her magazine articles on the juvenile justice system was re-printed for mass distribution at the request of California State judges. Janet has also worked extensively in corporate America where she has written Strategic Plans, Business Plans, Capital Appropriations Requests, RFPs, and countless advertising and marketing-related materials in industries that include real estate, communications, fashion and AV production. Janet was also a story analyst for motion picture and television production companies. Most recently, Janet served as the Managing Editor of web sites geared to educating its readers about medical problems. She also served a stint with a high tech firm as their in-house marketing writer before returning to her first love. . . teaching. |
