B.A. Centenary College of Louisiana M.A. University of Chicago Ph.D. University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign ...Karen Lunsford is an Assistant Professor of Writing who teaches Writing 2, 2E, 50E, and 109ST. In addition, she teaches graduate courses for two departments. Alternating with Susan McLeod, she teaches the Writing 501A/501B sequence to introduce TAs to the practices and theories of writing instruction. Affiliated with the Teaching & Learning emphasis in the Education Department, she teaches courses such as ED253: Literacy in the Information Age. Karen’s publications include articles in Written Communication, Computers and the Humanities, and the Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy. Her research employs interdisciplinary approaches to understand the writing practices that people engage in within evolving knowledge ecologies, how argumentation is situated within those ecologies, and what roles technologies play in these contexts. |
